C&A's training and development programs are extensive and comprehensive. Our philosophy is the more thorough the training, the more successful our employees will be in their jobs and careers long term. Our investment in you begins day one.

We offer the most complete training program in our industry today. Our offerings span formal new hire onboarding, sales training, continual professional development, management preparedness, and customized training developed to meet the evolving needs of our employees and our business.

Sales Training Curriculum
We provide a multi-week program for those in account manager, business development, relationship manager, and recruiter roles, along with other sales jobs. Instruction is delivered through a variety of methods from our dedicated training staff, including:

  • Classroom training
  • Online training
  • Role playing
  • Hands-on sessions in our computer lab
  • Integration into a branch and team for continued on-the-job training

Mentor Program
Our widely successful Mentor Program pairs experienced employees with new employees to help provide continual support and guidance and forge a path toward success. Mentoring also offers an opportunity for our seasoned employees to demonstrate their leadership abilities.

Professional Development
Our series of professional development courses is available to employees across the C&A organization. Our curriculum focuses on soft skill training including communication, assertiveness, conflict resolution, giving and receiving feedback, strengths finder, working with generations in the workplace, emotional intelligence, and more.

Pathways to Success
We offer customized courses, activities, and learning opportunities over and above our professional development curriculum which are tailored to the participants, whether it’s a division or department, employees in similar roles, or other group of employees.

Guest Speakers and Events
Throughout the year we bring in guest speakers and industry experts, implement team-building activities, and program events to enhance employee learning and engagement.

Career Pathing & Advancement
We recognize that not only are you looking for a great opportunity, you want a place to grow. For those with the desire to advance their careers within the C&A organization, we assist in career pathing by providing career road maps and support through one-on-one coaching. Annual Awards Celebration
C&A employees gather each fall at an offsite location for a festive celebration recognizing individual employees and teams across our organization who have exhibited top performance over the course of the previous year. The evening culminates with recognition of our Employee of the Year.

Employee of the Quarter
On a quarterly basis we recognize employees who have been selected, from peer nomination, for going above and beyond in their roles, making a positive impact, and exemplifying C&A’s Mission and Values. Our Employees of the Quarter comprise our nominees for Employee of the Year.

Department of the Quarter
As a team-focused organization, we recognize a support department each quarter – one that has made an extraordinary mark on our organization.

Peer-to-Peer
Through our internal online platform, our employees extend meaningful recognition to their peers in real time. Internship programs provide the skills for success

Are you ready to take a step from your college campus and make an impression in the business sector? Our internship program, Skills for Success, offers enrolled college students the opportunity to gain real-world experience and exposure with one of the Best Places to Work in Omaha.

Our program combines on-the-job performance with a professional development curriculum to help you maximize your growth and give you tangible takeaways that you can leverage following graduation. Our unique and well-rounded program also incorporates team building activities, networking, participation in company events, and community engagement.

Through our structured model, you’ll work with company leadership to set goals and identify meaningful projects that will challenge and stretch you, add value to C&A, and help you build your portfolio. You’ll work closely with managers and fellow team members while receiving the support of the program and our company throughout.

Our paid internships meet college credit requirements. We offer flexible hours to help you balance your internship with your class schedule and school responsibilities. Internships are offered primarily in the summer (May/June – August). Fall and spring opportunities are also available.

Making an impact.

Serving the community through charitable giving and community involvement is at the foundation of who we are at C&A. It’s part of our culture and we’re active year round.

As a company, we support a wide range of organizations, events, and initiatives in order to help make our community a better place to live and to work. But it’s more than that. Our employees get involved through hands-on volunteerism, through contributions to many diverse causes, and by mobilizing their peers when there’s a need.

C&A employees are also active in the work of The Kim Foundation, a non-profit established by C&A’s founder and chairman, Larry Courtnage. The Kim Foundation is a supportive resource and compassionate voice for those impacted by mental illness and suicide.
