360˚ Tutoring

  • C2 Education’s services are designed to provide support for all students. C2 tutors not only teach academic skills, but also serve as mentors and coaches, encouraging and guiding students throughout the school year. The C2 program directors serve as academic advisors, providing in-depth academic and college admissions counseling in order to keep students on track to meet long-term education goals.

We Wrote the Book on the NEW, Harder SAT®

  • C2 Education has always been on the forefront of tutoring and test preparation curriculum development. C2 has an in-house team of curriculum experts and is the first tutoring, test preparation service to release the proprietary curriculum specifically for the NEW, harder SAT on October 6, 2014 for our centers and students.

Company events offer an opportunity for relationship building and collaboration. These include the annual leadership conference, monthly town halls, quarterly staff parties, and community giveback programs.  C2 is also planning to inform and inspire our field teams thru more regular regional Center staff and tutor conferences in 2017.

C2’s teachers have a diverse range of backgrounds and goals. Some teachers work at C2 while preparing for graduate school, while others see C2 as long-term opportunities. As a result, we do see some teachers who stay at C2 for a short period of time; however, we also have teachers who have been with us for a very long time. In fact, some of the most veteran teachers have been with C2 since 2004!

C2 is constantly working to provide more opportunities for teachers who want to grow and stay with C2. Several teachers go into new and exciting roles (including becoming Center Directors, trainers, and joining the curriculum team). Additionally, the organization is actively investing in building more training and support tools so that teachers develop their knowledge and skill set.

The Center Director is integral to the success of C2 Education by driving center sales performance and operational excellence. The Center Director’s responsibilities include:

  • Marketing: Visiting schools and counselors, building our brand and image in the community
  • Enrolling: Meeting with new students and families, enrolling new students in our program and talking about the benefits of C2.
  • Conferences: Meeting with existing students and families, checking up to ensure we are meeting their goals, and adjusting their programs as needed.
  • Management: Managing the center and employees.  As a Center Director you are trusted to really treat the center as your own business.

Center Directors are supported by a comprehensive training & development program:

  • C2 University: A full program for all new hires to go through training, earning “credits” and “graduating” prior to becoming a certified Center Director.
  • Ongoing training provided to Center Directors by team of Regional Trainers at Region and District Wide Meetings

    Pros

    The work is very meaningful. The center where I work has some of the most motivated and interesting students. The pay scale is fair. Center director and administrative staff are flexible and friendly.

    Cons

    I would like to see more opportunities for ongoing training. I feel like I haven't had a chance to learn new techniques since the training period when I first started teaching.

    Advice to Management

    In order to offer continuous training, perhaps start some sort of mentor/shadowing program. It's easy to fall into a normal routine when tutoring. I think it would be helpful to observe another tutor, like we did when we started, to see if there are different techniques we can utilize.

    I applied in-person. I interviewed at C2 Education (Katy, TX) in July 2017.

    Interview

    Went in with resume, had a quick chat with the staff, and then took a 3 hour evaluation. (Basically just the SAT). Once the evaluation came in positive, they offered me a job. I accepted.
