I have been working at CB Insights full-time (More than a year)
I've been with CB Insights over 2 years now and it keeps getting better!
1. Product innovation: from the execs down to associates, developing new needle-moving ideas are evident. From quarterly Hack Days to really listening to customers, CB Insights keeps producing new, improved, and excellent product features and enhancements.
2. The awesome people. I always say that I've never been around so many smart and talented folks, yet so happy, very helpful, humble, and hardworking individuals.
3. People Ops are creating some exciting and engaging events and activities (Community Service Week, Bring Your Kids to Work Day, happy hours, cooking competition, etc.)
4. Leadership really cares about their direct reports. My boss treats me like an adult, encourages me to grow and to reach my goals, but also sensitive enough to notice and act when I need a break and a little nudge
5. Provides tools we need to succeed in our roles, whether organized training or various sales tools.
6. Love the Peer2Peer program where individual folks from different departments share their skills (mostly non-work related) with the rest of the company.
Office is getting tight, even after moving some folks to a nearby satellite office. My understanding is that the company is working hard to address and resolve this concern. And our kick-a** office managers are heaven-sent for keeping our office organized and pleasant to work at.
Advice to Management
Continue getting honest feedback from team members (whether formally via survey tools or during coffee breaks). Continue to take those feedback seriously and acting on them. I appreciate bringing in more diverse (cultural, skills, background) folks into the mix, keeps us "old-timers" on our toes :)
I applied through a staffing agency. I interviewed at CB Insights (New York, NY) in January 2017.
First round was an online coding test with standard questions, second round was an in person situation which was more of an in depth discussion of knowledge and working with their actual system than a typical quizzing interview, and a minor code task. Also meeting with senior personnel before an offer was made.
