CBSi Cares

We believe our commitment to impacting the media and tech industries should extend beyond our premium content and online solutions. CBS Interactive Cares (CBSi Cares) was created to inspire and engage employees by providing a platform to make a meaningful and impactful difference in the local communities we serve.  Our purpose is to come together to tackle large and small scale economic, social and environmental challenges in our local communities.

 Volunteering

Our efforts extend to our community ties in the form of volunteer work, direct monetary and item donations and local organization encouragement and support. The CBSi Cares team lead, located at each of our offices, aims to provide monthly activities and events to engage employees in corporate responsibility efforts. Our goal is for each of our employees to participate in volunteer efforts throughout the year as a way to not only engage with our local communities but as an opportunity to bond and grow with each other.

Our annual CBSi Cares Day is held across the US and is aimed to get ALL employees out of the office and into our local communities.

Diversity & Inclusion

Leadership at CBS Interactive is committed to creating a diverse and well-rounded community where all employees feel like they belong.  We believe that diversity is important in all aspects of the media industry, from the broadcasters in front of the camera to the engineers who are changing the way we access and understand content.  As an organization, we are consistently looking for employees who will bring a unique background, skillset, thought process and creative perspective to our company. Through this uniqueness, we hope to be able to build teams that reflect the customers we serve and the communities in which we do business.

Over the years we have formed various employee resource groups and programs to help make a difference for our teams. With a focus on building relationships and connecting people, we are driving change across the globe.

Employee Resource Groups

One of our active ERG's "This Is Now" focuses on personal and professional growth, for all employees in the workplace. A few recent events? A fireside chat with Silicon Valley icon, Ellen Pao, a Q&A session with Catrice Monsoon, SVP of CBS Corporate Diversity & Inclusion, and a power hour with Brian Cooley, CNET Editor at Large, to review top tips for presentation making. We can't wait to see what This... is Now has in store for us in 2017!

ANGLE is a group focused on LGBT issues and awareness.

Respect, Appreciation, Development (RAD) is a multicultural employee resource group that focuses on diversity initiatives within CBS.

External Partnerships:

The CBS Interactive family is a proud supporter of numerous local and national organizations that help underserved populations land both internships and full time opportunities at divisions across the CBS network.

    Application

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at CBS Interactive (New York, NY) in June 2017.

    Interview

Contacted on LinkedIn, they asked me if I wanted an interview. Then they said they would get back to me after a week. A week and half passed, so I bothered them about it. They wanted a second interview with the Producer, and they asked for an assignment immediately afterwards. Sent me a no a few days after.
