I worked at CBS Radio full-time (More than 10 years)
The beginning of my decade at CBS Radio Corp was a dream job. We were literally a start-up streaming company within a legacy media company. Our efforts lead to industry innovation and worldwide best practices.
The later part of my decade at CBS was plagued with political upheaval and lack of vision from upper-level management. The new regime despised the old regime and a culture of 'not invented here' made it impossible for older mid-level management (like myself) to continue innovating.
Also, the new executive team was not familiar with radio and didn't create products to accentuate or to truly benefit our benefactor.
Advice to Management
Trust mid-level management to do their jobs. Micro-management isn't scalable.
I applied online. The process took 4 days. I interviewed at CBS Radio.
Got called in to do an interview. Met with the Promotions Manager and Marketing Manager. Lasted about 30 minutes.Asked questions about myself and my experiences that would help me in this role. Talked about what this job would entail and what I could expect if I got it.
