I have been working at CDM Media full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Uncapped Commission - Pays out Timely and as expected which isn't always that case at other sales jobs I've had before. The support is there if you choose to use it. If you can learn quickly and work well with a team, the Directors and VP take a lot on their shoulders to help you close your deals and you get paid on them. Very quick avenues to get yourself promoted fast. The solution is easy to sell since its on target with what people expect to pay and the quality of the product is top notch. Residual business after your first sale is probably the highlight of working here. Your clients that have a good time of their events will re-book with you time and time again and you own the account for life. If you work hard you can make a lot of money very quickly.

    Cons

Good amount of gossip around the office. I don't mind it at all but I could see some finding that frustrating. It is a sales role so you are on the hook for a target and you need to produce. They give you plenty of time to get situated and learn though so this is probably par for the course as it would be expected of any sales role.

    Client Services Manager Interview

    Anonymous Employee in Chicago, IL
    Accepted Offer
    Negative Experience
    Easy Interview

    Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at CDM Media (Chicago, IL).

    Interview

Interview both on the phone and in person was very easy, but wish I would have trusted my gut and not taken the job. I was on time (professionally early), however, the interviewer was late and did not apologize.

Although age would speak otherwise, the interview was very inexperienced and did not ask any of the right questions or dig into my experience and background. During the whole process I felt like he was trying to get to know me better as a person. I don't think this is necessarily a bad thing because you want a cultural fit in addition to experience, but I left feeling more confused than anything.
