Advice to Management
Continue doing what you do.
I applied in-person. I interviewed at CEI (Stamford, CT) in August 2017.
The process with CEI consisted of a call from a Professional Recruiter, who discussed my experience and then spoke about a job opportunity at a company with which I eventually was granted an interview with the hiring company's HR rep.
I spoke with an HR representative from the hiring company, which also went well. I then was invited to the hiring company's location for an interview. I met briefly with the CEI Acct Mgr, then interviewed with the hiring company's full Finance team (4 people).
I waited about a week for a response as they interviewed other candidates, and then I was told I was the successful candidate. I began discussing salary/benefit/PTO option packages with the Recruiting Professional at CEI on Friday, and I was instructed to set up an appointment for a urine screening, and complete a background check, both of which I promptly completed. I further discussed the option packages and informed the Acct Mgr of my choice on Monday morning.
He informed me that there would be an additional interview with the hiring company's HR Director as a matter of formality, which took place the following day. Then I went for a urine screening that afternoon, as instructed by the Account Manager.
I waited to hear back from the Acct Mgr, who promptly informed me that he had bad news, and that the company has gone with another "last minute candidate" who just appeared after I was tendered CEI's offer. I was told to wait until the following Wednesday, because the other candidate had until the following Wednesday to accept the offer.
This was by far the worst interview experience that I have ever had to endure.
