I do not work here but there is an error on this glass door page. This is a profile for Circa News, not the jewelry company. All the reviews are reflective of the jewelry company not the media organization. Might be a good idea to fix this as soon as possible.
Fix the error on this page. (had to give this a rating in order to post. I've never worked here and just gave it a three stars average to be able to post to let glass door know of the error on the page.)
I applied online. The process took 5+ months. I interviewed at CIRCA (New York, NY) in July 2016.
Went through initial interview process in July 2016, one day after applying. First, a phone interview, followed by an in-person one week later. All went well and seemed very promising. In August they told me although I was the candidate they'd like to hire, due to "internal issues" they couldn't hire externally at this time. "But let's keep in touch."
Fast forward to November 2016, they send me an email stating the position has been re-opened, asking if I am still interested. This began another TWO MONTHS of back and forth emailing, phone calls, and negotiating week by week about the position. (Mind you, this is for CSR and not higher- up management or otherwise.) By the time they made me an offer, they completely low-balled me an hourly wage. I tried to negotiate, but they were stuck in the mud at this low figure due to the fact that there would be a lot of "hand holding'. (Although this was my industry) Naively, I still accepted.
A week and a half before my start date, they call to inform me that they were retracting their offer. Why? I (by mistake) stated the wrong institution regarding my HS education, and therefore I LIED. They were just "too uncomfortable" to bring me on, because of this. Mind you, I had already put in my two-weeks at my current employer for this position. Their response? "Oh, well that's on you."
So in total, FIVE months of back and forth with this company who essentially toyed me around using very clear business tactics, attempting to take advantage of my age (probably) and devalue my experience with low ball offers, for absolutely no reason.
(For reference, I was able to find and accept a job with the exact same title, for more money and no hassle, in one weeks time.)
Get over yourselves, CIRCA/PORTERO. You sell extremely high end merchandise, and your pathetic penny pinching/clique mentality will get you absolutely nowhere.
