I have been working at CPM Acquisition Corp. full-time (More than 10 years)
Laid back environment. Mostly a great group of people to work with. Employees are hard working and have a "get it done" mentality. The products produced are top quality as the employees really do care.
Top management is currently in a mode for being acquired. Doing many short-sighted decisions that will have significant long-term effects on the next owner(s). Many executive positions are filled with people set for retirement with no replacement person trained to succeed them. This is in many, many key areas of the company. Employees tend to stay for long periods of time, so limited new ideas get introduced. "Good ol' boys" Financial management sometimes makes rash decisions without thinking through the consequences. Saving nickels that cost dollars in efficiencies and productivity. I have also seen it go the other way... spending tons of money with little to no ROI. Ego gets the best of them.
Advice to Management
The company has many great employees that have dedicated much to the success of the company. Please don't sell out for a "golden parachute" and leave the rest of the employees trying to explain to the new owners what went wrong. You have put together a great company, please see it through to the next owners. If / when that happens (within 1-2 years), I would whole-heatedly recommend this company to everyone, as it's an awesome company to work for. Until then... just know the risks!
