I worked at CSU Channel Islands part-time (More than a year)
I worked here part time as a student in the ASI department. The hours were flexible to fit with my class schedule. There were deadlines to meet, but my team was great at getting the work done and doing it well.
There were a few too many meetings, some seemed redundant.
Advice to Management
Keep doing what you're doing. This is a great place for students to work.
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at CSU Channel Islands (Camarillo, CA) in November 2016.
A very detailed, and enjoyable interview culminated in a data sourcing "test". I was asked to check the accuracy of data typed into a spreadsheet, using the internet. I also used my phone to call offices and double-check data, as we all know websites are not necessarily updated as often changes in staff. I was also asked to write a letter thanking a donor for their contribution, and keep the door open for future donations. Although I was not offered the job, it was a thoroughly enjoyable experience.
