I worked at Cactus Club Cafe full-time (More than a year)
You can make more money here than most restaurants. Always busy and the place runs like a well oiled machine most of the time. It's also really easy to move up quickly if you show a little bit of initiative, work ethic, and intelligence. Overall great place to work to save money quickly in between jobs, education, etc.
Like any restaurant it can be hectic and getting time off can be frustrating. Some people also get frustrated with how much of a stickler they are for staff appearance.
Advice to Management
Try to be as accommodating as possible with time off, and when people change their availability take it seriously. Don't talk down to your staff.
The process took 4 days. I interviewed at Cactus Club Cafe (Vancouver, BC (Canada)).
I have never walked out of an interview until the interview at Cactus Club. The girl conducting the interview was fine, but the offer was downright insulting and offensive. $14 per hour for 30 hours a week maximum. No benefits. No tips. For an office manager position that requires skills and an education. Get real, Cactus Club.
