I have been working at Caliber Home Loans full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Caliber is going through a culture shift right now. The executive team is very engaged in trying to change the culture from the typical non bank culture to a more engaged, employee appreciation culture. The Investor Servicing department is clean, there are some incredibly smart people who you can learn from, who run their desks and processes. There is opportunity, if you want it, to learn from other departments and grow. Caliber does a very good job of looking towards the future and the Investor Servicing team handles many different functions, so the group size has been steady. James Campbell, the head of Servicing, has a background in Investor Reporting which helps significantly when it comes to resourcing, engagement and understanding.

    Cons

If you are looking for rah, rah culture, the group itself is not that. The Investor Servicing team is like a team of accounting analysts, they are very head down and focused on getting the work done and getting out. The benefit of this is that work gets done and people get to go home, there are not endless projects to work recon items over and over because people don't play around, they focus and go home, but if you like a ton of engagement with peers, this would be a con.

    Advice to Management

Loving the changes towards the " One Team, One Mission" concept, it is nice to see that creating customers for life takes into account the work that servicing does as well in creating a positive customer relationship. Ann Thorn has brought in some great diversity initiatives and employee engagement that is thought provoking and focused on career development, widening the audience and participation would be helpful as it grows.
