I have been working at California Closets full-time (More than 3 years)
There are a number of things that I love about working at California Closets. The franchise owner was the reason I came on board to begin with, his vision and business acumen set him far above any boss I've ever worked for. The creative aspects of the job are great. The ability to set my own hours makes me feel like I have a lot of control with my success. The product is awesome. The entire team is very supportive and cares about each other.
There are a lot of processes that can feel overwhelming at times. I work a lot of hours (but that's my fault LOL).
It was a group interview of 6-8 and they warned us we were not competing against each other. The first interview was to see if we fit in culturally. They did a brief presentation of the company and had us tell the group what was our favorite activity. Then had us break into pairs...and interview each other! After that we presented our partner on why they would be a great fit for the company.
For a company that prides themselves on professionalism, that was the most immature and awkward thing I've ever done during an interview. How were they suppose to know if we were good candidate if they didn't even talk to us?
The whole thing lasted 20-30 minutes. Everyone was nice and friendly but after that I knew I didn't want to work for a company like that.
