I worked at Cambridge Realty Capital as an intern (More than a year)
This was a great place to work as an intern (they're called associates here). The pay was very competitive and the hours were flexible to work with class schedules. They put a lot of time into personal development, which seems rare for a company who hires a lot of interns (who are usually considered temporary employees). Several of the full time employees started out as interns, and if you're not hired on full time, your seniors are very open to helping you find a new full time job when you're out of school.
Sometimes the unstructured, casual environment seemed like it wouldn't prepare interns for a high-stress job in finance.
I applied through college or university. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Cambridge Realty Capital (Chicago, IL) in September 2013.
First, They will give you an excel test to do through E-mail. After passing the test, you will expect a phone interview. Questions like " process or detail, which is more important to you", . Then, you can be invited to the office for a second round.
