I worked at Canusa full-time (More than 3 years)
The President of Canusa Hershman (Jonathan Sloan) is an upstanding person who generally cares about each and every employee. Very responsive Accounting and HR departments. Financially sound company.
Other 'higher ups' don't seem to be in touch with their employees. I was there for over 3 years and some of them had no idea who I was or how long I'd been with the company.
Handful of brokers who glide by on current/past accounts and make no effort to actively build the business.
Compensation is also well under the market. Benefits costs were increasing year over year and I never got a compensation increase ONCE while I worked there not even to cover cost of living increases!
Advice to Management
Take the time to get to know the people who are working for you. Consider annual cost of living salary increases and for the love of God...Drop the dead weight on your broker team!
I applied online. I interviewed at Canusa (Baltimore, MD) in July 2017.
Multiple interview dates and interviewers, one at a time, over the course of several meetings/dates. The interview process seemed to drag out over weeks, far too long, and meetings held during the day required that I miss time from my current job.
