Equal Pay for Equal Work. Period.

In 2017, Carbon Black performed an in-depth compensation analysis for all jobs in which we compared salaries for individuals working in the same role. We proudly reaffirmed both men and women received the same pay, setting the standard for our dedication to a zero pay gap.

    I have been working at Carbon Black full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Opportunity to grow cyber security knowledge which is in high demand
    Remote work opportunities - Large remote contingent means your not "That person on the phone" because everyone is one video conference and Slack (mostly level playing field for remote employees)
    Working with a great team
    The executive team seems to really be on the ball
    Has a great mission and really works towards it - "A world safe from cyber attacks!"
    Very low BS. As CEO says, "We need to reduce the friction" and they follow through on it.

    Mountain of technical debt
    CI/CD is maturing, but has a long way to go
    Whiny millenials

    Advice to Management

    Keep the level of friction low as the company continues to quickly grow.
    Don't let investors ruin a great company and culture.
    Get developers talking to users more.

    Application

    I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Carbon Black in November 2017.

    Interview

    The initial contact was initiated within 2 days of my application. An initial phone screen with the recruiter then the hiring manager happened on the next day. After that, there were a couple more phone screens (due to location) and a coding test over the next week. I then had an on-site interview with 5 people. After that, it was waiting for an offer.
    During the whole process, I was kept informed of the next steps by the recruiter in a timely manner, and the pacing of the process was comfortable. They appreciated that I had existing responsibilities with my current employer, and were flexible with scheduling.
