I have been working at Cardiogram full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

-Incredibly exciting product with meaningful impact (e.g. we frequently have grateful users write in to tell us how Cardiogram helped identify undiagnosed health conditions)
-High-caliber team across all functions (product, ML, operations, biz dev)
-Opportunities to learn and help outside of your current role (e.g. even though I was hired in sales, my role has evolved to include growth and PM-type projects)
-Leadership is very invested in your professional growth
-Transparent culture: leadership shares info on fundraising, company's finances/runway, teams feel comfortable sharing their challenges and soliciting constructive feedback
-Very collaborative/cross-functional work, without an abundance of meetings—there's a good balance between addressing issues on Slack/at-desks and scheduling larger meetings.
-Flexible hours, great food (with plenty of healthy options), office stocked with snacks/drinks

    Cons

-Early-stage startup comp tends to be heavily equity-based, so it's lower than Google, Facebook, etc unless there's a successful exit
-Some weeks feel reactionary, i.e. you plan your goals at the beginning, but things pop up throughout the week that demand immediate attention, and then you're not able to meet your original plan. This is part of the excitement of a startup, but important to be aware of, especially if you're used to the structure of a larger company.
