Fun environment, good food. The management was pretty good and hours were flexible. Good job for high school or college student.
I never got a raise while other employees who started at the same time did. Management rarely helped servers.
Advice to Management
Try to be more involved in the restaurant instead of sitting in the back office. It is hard to find the manager when they are out on a smoke break every ten minutes.
I applied in-person. The process took a week. I interviewed at Carlos O'Kelly's (Ames, IA).
I dropped off an application, called back and was told that they would leave a message for the hiring manager. She called me back a few days later and I interviewed very soon after that. The interview was friendly and conversational.
