I have been working at Chartboost full-time
* Salary is (at least IMO) very fair. * People are extremely professional (in terms of being offensive vs. courteous). We can poke fun at ourselves and people here generally have a good sense of humor, but I never see anyone being horribly ridiculed for gender/race/sexuality (which happens more often than you think at startups usually.) * Free lunch every day! * Managers (or at least my manager) go out of their way to make sure you are happy, succeeding and performing well. You don't feel neglected, held out to dry, or held to ridiculous standards. * PTO policy is awesome. * The recruitment process was easy and smooth. I felt welcome immediately and I never had second thoughts about joining. From what I can gather most new hires who came after me also feel happy with that process and the onboarding process.
* People leave often. A new person leaves basically every week. I imagine this is partially due to the fact that in this industry people don't stay at places for very long, but it makes me concerned that there aren't any growth opportunities, or that it's difficult to grow, although from what I've witnessed first-hand, Chartboost does seem comfortable promoting people from within. So, take this with a grain of salt. * There is a general gossipy sense to the office which is to be expected with any medium-large startup with lots of young people (median age here is about 30) but it can get a little irritating. * Sometimes it seems like there are too many internal meetings, many of which are not useful to the majority of people in the room. It would be ideal to pare these meetings down so that people only go to the ones that are relevant to their departments.
Advice to Management
Make sure that employees continue to feel valued and that we have clear paths to grow our career HERE.
I applied online. I interviewed at Chartboost.
Had a chat with the recruiter, they were very well informed and then scheduled an interview pretty quickly. A general technical telephonic screen, with the interviewer explaining about the role and then we jumped into a coding problem in coder pad. The interviewer explain about the company and about their role in the company in a detailed fashion.
