Awesome director of galleries, beautiful lake, great art for most shows, fun to interact with the school of art faculty and students, shows at the amp
Sometimes terrible art, disrespectful people coming into the gallery, feeling trapped in a gated community, having to be at work allll the time living in the institution
I applied online. I interviewed at Chautauqua Institution.
Pretty straightforward application form that could be done online or in paper. "Interview" wasn't really the right word, it was more just some standard questions, like what days/hours can you work, when can you start for the summer, how long through the season can you stay, etc. The hiring manager was friendly and approachable.
There wasn't a negotiation phase, it was a minimum wage job selling tickets at the main gate and/or the parking lot. Very good summer job for college kids.
