I have been working at City University London full-time (More than a year)
I will start by saying that I work in the Library Services, so, although I trust the work experience in other departments might be similar, I can only speak of the one that I know. I love the company culture in the Library - everbody is helpful and kind to each other, it is a very friendly and inclusive place to be. The management is supportive and flexible in cases of special needs/health issues. Employee development is strongly supported, and there are training courses available. My line manager is the best I have ever had. The pay is the leading in the sector, at least for my role. It is hard for me to imagine a better place to be, I don't hate Mondays at all!
Perhaps only the infrastructure: the main building is quite old, so the lifts tend to go out of service, etc.
I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at City University London.
Interview included basic questions on the university, interest in role applying for, thoughts on university so far. Pretty much basic questions but they were trying to see if i was interested.
also had a mock exercise where we had to do some creative stuff to check our communication skills. they are looking for good listeners
