Leadership was open to new ideas and understanding of the needs and concerns of the employees. Employees were provided opportunities to pursue professional development.
Lower compensation than private-sector colleagues, but that is to be expected in government engineering department. Projects are mostly "business as usual" with minimal opportunities to innovate.
I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at City of Chandler, Arizona (Chandler, AZ) in April 2015.
Very casual. Three supervisors switched off asking me questions from a printed out sheet of paper. The questions were pretty straightforward and simple. After asking me probably around 15 questions I asked them questions. The main supervisor explained the process and told me how I'd get a call back in a couple of weeks.
