I have been working at City of Chattanooga full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Generally stable employment once probation period is over. Benefits package is decent.

    Cons

Management organization does not have a very modern approach it is a very from the top down micro-managed style that makes it hard for innovation and forward thinking to thrive. Individuals can feel "lost" in all of it. Salary scale for expected skill sets is very low.

    Advice to Management

A more open approach and more training interaction with employees would be helpful. Career life balance can easily get out of hand under current approach

    Application

The process took a week. I interviewed at City of Chattanooga (Chattanooga, TN) in September 2017.

    Interview

Phone interview by 3 man panel.
Seemed rather arrogant considering it pays only $29,000 per year. Having an Engineering degree and a Masters in Statistics I would be overly qualified.
