    Pros

very good training and supervisor support. Coworkers are like family. Never a dull moment. Every day is a new adventure. Pay is good enough.

    Cons

never have holidays off and have to work in bad weather no matter how bad it gets. Have to deal with people from all walks of life.

    Advice to Management

Stand behind your motivated employees and lead them in the right direction when they get off track. Quickly remove the bad apples.

    Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at City of Lubbock, TX Police Department (Lubbock, TX) in April 2015.

    Interview

After applying I was e-mailed back to set up an interview, followed by an in person greeting and tour of the facility. Afterwords I received a phone call to set up a time to take a typing test and a basic assessment for the job. After successful completion I had a panel interview with the three managers. Drug test, psychology assessment and training followed.
