Technical Account Manager

Being a woman in tech, I only recently started advocating for myself at work about advancement opportunities. Because of this I wanted to ask this question to my male counterparts. When you have 1:1's with your direct reports and talk about career growth / aspirations what is your managers’ response typically? I’d like to gauge how my experience (negative) differs from others. For instance are you met with blockades, enthusiasm, dread, etc?

Negative Outlook
Disapproves of CEO

- Great and beloved product
- High caliber team
- Well designed & well located office

- Upper management silently assents to CEO - Public humiliation by CEO is accepted as a norm - High turnover of employees - Long hours + staying online even whilst on holiday are expected - Low

Advice to Management

- CEO: Run product, turn over management to someone with higher EQ
- Management / Board: Allowing CEO untethered control will be the downfall of CM, rein it in

I applied online. The process took 2+ months. I interviewed at Citymapper (Tokyo) in Feb 2022

The first interview gave a general overview of the company, with a couple of questions on how you would go about retrieving data. This was followed by a data task looking at how you would approach certain issues with data. Lastly an interview with a manager.

Terrible communication after the first interview. When trying to follow up, my e-mails were ignored and eventually given the excuse of 'I only just received it' by two people. The whole process took roughly 10 weeks.

How would you test to see if the data is accurate?
