I have been working at Clayton County public Schools full-time (More than 5 years)
My kids are awesome! We've gotten a few bonuses over the past few years for staying in the county or teaching a high need subject. Some of the class sizes are really great and manageable.
Public education as a whole has some work to do. The politics of everything can be a bit stressful, and sometimes it feels more like we are on a horse and pony show than just being here for the students. Class sizes can be pretty large at times.
Advice to Management
Get more experience in the classrooms to see what teachers, students, and parents are actually experiencing. Otherwise, hire more people who have been here before so that appropriate changes can be made.
I applied online. I interviewed at Clayton County public Schools (Jonesboro, GA).
I did not have an interview, for me it consisted of completing an application, reference check, completing the paper work, background screening, I did not have a real interview. Must have a college degree and i applied to substitute teach.
