I worked at Club One (More than 5 years)
Good clientele and not a whole lot of oversight on what you do with clients. fairly collaborative with knowledge. Made lasting friends and clients.
No raises in 5 years, upward mobility limited. Lots of turnover in management but that does not really affect the front line staff that works on commission.
Advice to Management
Be sure you want to be a manager, the lifespan of a fitness manager is short. Otherwise support your trainers and share knowledge. Money driven managers don't last, but those that care about training people and making connections with the members fair much better and the trainers will work harder for you.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Club One (Houston, TX) in February 2014.
Very easy process. I went through a phone interview and an in person interview. They mostly seemed interested in my character and experience. They asked me a lot of hypothetical questions.
