Coach was founded in 1941 as a family-run workshop.  Inspired by a baseball glove, its distinctive markings and how supple the leather became with use, the founder created Coach’s first bag.

In a Manhattan loft, six artisans handcrafted a collection of high-quality leather goods using skills handed down from generation to generation. Discerning consumers soon began to seek out the quality and unique nature of Coach craftsmanship.

Our business is founded on the concept of a single consumer, a single product, and a single sale or transaction.

Over the last decade, we have built Coach into a leading international accessories company with a loyal and highly engaged consumer franchise.

With over 950+ directly-operated Coach Stores located in 21 countries, Coach has established itself as a leading global lifestyle brand. These stores showcase what makes Coach unique—a dedication to craftsmanship, design, materials and heritage—and express the warmth and authenticity of the modern Coach brand.

In 2016 Tapestry moved Coach to its new global headquarters at 10 Hudson Yards- a 52 story LEED Gold designed tower. This state-of-the-art building is an urban campus with a 15 story atrium connecting the floors.  It is adjacent to the High Line – an elevated urban park redesigned from a former freight railway line – the section boarding our building will become the focal point for cultural events.

    I have been working at Coach full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Great benefits and the pay is decent. If you work hard, you can rise to the top. But you have to prove it in numbers/kpi’s. You must also take initiative.

    Cons

    Some of the protocols can be redundant but fool proof. Sometimes too much paperwork.

    Advice to Management

    None. Thus far everyone is supportive.

    Application

    The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Coach.

    Interview

    It consisted of one phone call followed by a zoom call with two managers within the department. The phone call went seamlessly and I was told towards the end of it I was moving to the next round and was asked about my availability. Despite, providing an entire week time frame, I was told my interview would be the next day which I was not available for. After this, was interview was rescheduled 3-4 times. I had read the Glassdoor reviews prior and was prepared for my experience as someone had the same exact situation. I had 2 30 minute video sessions with two managers within the department. The first manager did not share her video, so I spoke to a black screen the entire time which I found quite impersonal. This session consisted of the manager asking me 2-3 questions in regards to my resume that lasted no more than 10 minutes and then was opened up for questions. I was completely thrown off as usually companies like to know a lot more about their candidates. My second session went better and the manager was nice however I was so thrown off by the first session and knew I was not being considered I was quite disappointed. I was never told of any further steps and was thanked for my time, and never heard back since. The previous reviewer mentioned feeling that they were treated similarly due to their ethnicity and I can't help but feel the same way given I had a referral as well. I assumed they had made their decision a week ago and just interviewed me out of courtesy.
