Colgate-Palmolive – Why Work For Us?

Colgate's Core Values

Our three fundamental values — Caring, Global Teamwork and Continuous Improvement — are part of everything we do. They are the foundation for our business strategy and are reflected in every aspect of our work life.

The Company cares about people: Colgate people, customers, shareholders and business partners. Colgate is committed to act with compassion, integrity, honesty and high ethics in all situations, to listen with respect to others and to value differences. The Company is also committed to protect the global environment, to enhance the communities where Colgate people live and work, and to be compliant with government laws and regulations.

Global Teamwork
All Colgate people are part of a global team, committed to working together across countries and throughout the world. Only by sharing ideas, technologies and talents can the Company achieve and sustain profitable growth.

Continuous Improvement
Colgate is committed to getting better every day in all it does, as individuals and as teams. By better understanding consumers' and customers' expectations and continuously working to innovate and improve products, services and processes, Colgate will become the best.

For over 200 years, Colgate-Palmolive has been Giving the World Reasons to Smile– with products that make consumers’ lives healthier and more enjoyable, contributions to the communities where we live and work and innovations that help preserve the planet’s vital resources.

We believe the commitments we make today, contribute to a brighter tomorrow. And we’re holding ourselves accountable with a clear sustainability strategy, aggressive sustainability goals and strategic initiatives, programs and partnerships. Our long-term sustainability strategy focuses on three areas: People, Performance and Planet.

For over 200 years, Colgate has been committed to “People”. From the near 38,000 employees around the world who run our business, to the billions of consumers who use our products, people are at the heart of what we do and how we do it.

We measure our “Performance” on more than just financial strength – we are committed to growing the business with innovative, more sustainable products that make the lives of consumers healthier and more enjoyable.

Operating in today’s world requires an enhanced focus on conserving earth’s finite resources and addressing climate change. Colgate’s planet-related commitments cover the environmental issues material to the Company, our energy use, carbon emissions, water use and waste generation, as well as our commitment to no-deforestation.

The rich diversity of our people, our thinking, our talent and our suppliers is key to our success.

"Recognizing and valuing the many differences that make us who we are is vital to our culture. This diversity includes more than the obvious traits, like nationality, culture, race and gender. Our diversity also encompasses many differences that are not so easily seen, such as life experiences, religion, sexual orientation and family situations, just to name a few.

These differences bring a depth and variety of ideas to our business that cannot come from any other source. They are the keys to finding new solutions to business challenges and new opportunities from unique insights. Creating an inclusive environment is absolutely critical to ensure that we can benefit from these diverse viewpoints, diverse ideas and diverse perspectives."

— Ian Cook, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer

"Our objective is to live our Managing With Respect principles by fostering an inclusive workplace that mirrors the diversity of the global marketplace. Such an environment will provide all Colgate people with the opportunity to make unique contributions to our overall business success."
— Eugene Kelly, Worldwide Director, Global Workplace Initiatives

    Average Interview

I applied online. The process took 3+ months. I interviewed at Colgate-Palmolive (Remote, OR).

Holy cow! This is the slowest process that I've seen. I submitted my application in august, received an invitation for intake in September, second interview in early October, and rejection notice by the end of October.

The interview questions were nothing new - standard HR questions. But what was unique was that all the interviews were video-based. The intake interview was a recorded event. The questions were predictable and you logged into a third-party site where you recorded responses to canned questions. You have two chances to answer each question and 30 seconds to prepare.

If you do this, be sure to use Google chrome. I found Firefox to be glitchy and talked to tech support ... they said chrome works best.
