    Neutral Outlook

I have been working at College of Southern Nevada part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Excellent colleagues. Flexible schedule. I work very independently, which I prefer. I do not have to deal with micromanagement or other ridiculous demands from the boss.

    Cons

Adjunct employees earn approximately one-third the salary as a full time faculty member per class, despite having the same responsibilities and qualifications (though, to be fair, this is endemic to higher education across the US)

    Advice to Management

Lobby for federal policies to change so that adjunct faculty will be paid an equivalent salary and benefits.

    Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at College of Southern Nevada.

    Interview

The interview was relaxed and informal. I didn't feel nervous and the interviewer was kind and inviting. The Department head was going to be stepping down after the semester so I only had one chance to interview with this particular individual. The interviewer was very detailed in the questions that she asked and she waited patiently for me to answer. She broke the silence with anecdotes about her own life and when she first started teaching which put me at ease and helped me to relax in the interview.
