I have been working at Columbia Hospitality full-time

    Pros

This company is very focused on making sure that their employees are well taken care of. I have never had a benefits package as good. Very willing to educate and help move you in your career.

    Cons

The only downside is the efficiency with which operations are handled. Sometimes there are too many cooks in the kitchen so to speak.

    Advice to Management

Keep supporting your team members and grease the wheels a bit in upper management.

    Application

I applied in-person. The process took 4+ weeks. I interviewed at Columbia Hospitality (Seattle, WA).

    Interview

Really enjoyed meeting in person the managers. They were impressed with my extensive experience relative to the job and even had me fill out for background check to expedite the process. They said it seemed like I was a good match for the opening. So I researched the project and company and three weeks later I was ecstatic to get an interview. Unfortunately the young lady interviewing had been with the company less than a month and no retail mgt experence. I was disappointed when a week later she said they were looking for someone for a better fit for the project. Could it be I have twenty years retail and much older than the new team. Guess age trumps amazing experience for a good fit.

    • You will need to be on the sales floor motivating emoyees, assisting customers, and merchandising instead of sitting in the back. Do you have any reservations about that?   Answer Question
