I worked at Columbus Public Health full-time (Less than a year)
Low-stress, rewarding work, great coworkers
monotonous, low-paying, lots of alone time
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4+ weeks. I interviewed at Columbus Public Health.
I cold-called one of the managers for one job and he referred me to a different one. That manager called me within 2 weeks to set up an interview. It was a small panel interview, nothing out of the ordinary. As long as you are familiar with your program material, you would have no problem. Second panel interview about a week later. Offered the job about 2 weeks later
Read the city policy on starting above the minimum for the position. With significant years of experience, I was able to negotiate a bump of about 5k above the base. The salary that I asked for was more than my supervisor was making.
