I worked at Community Energy full-time (More than 3 years)
This is by far one of the most rewarding and character-building positions I have experienced. You help drive the demand for clean energy by enrolling electric consumers with an alternative energy supplier. The company is there to support you as you develop your skills in grass root sales, which in my opinion is the best foundational training to be successful in ones ability to communicate value in a product. This company was instrumental in providing me with the recourses to later operate and grow a business in one of the most competitive markets in the world. When you work hard here, the financial return will follow, and your ability to understand human nature will give you an edge unlike any other.
This job is not for those without a vision for greatness. You have a lot of autonomy and it is very easy to not work. If you want to coast and just grab a paycheck, look elsewhere. If you want to test your ability and really get a sense of your potential, look no further.
Advice to Management
It may be helpful to have ongoing training to keep the team sharp and engaged. The more motivation and inspiration you provide, the more productive the team will become.
I applied online. The process took 2+ weeks. I interviewed at Community Energy (Radnor, PA) in May 2015.
I sent an email regarding the job posting, they quickly set up a phone interview with the hiring manager and one of their accounts, and I subsequently met both of them in person along with two other people I would be working with.
