    Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at CompareNetworks (South San Francisco, CA) in April 2010.

    Interview

biocompareI learned of the position from Craigslist. The interview went well and they seem to place an emphasis on basic to intermediate skills. I first spoke to the CTO and then the Director of Programming, followed by members of the engineering team. They asked about some of the basics and a little intermediate stuff, and some open-ended questions about how best to go about finding and correcting meaningful problems that I would discover on my own. It took a total of two phone screens and 2 in-person interviews before they provided an offer. Having worked for them for a number of months, I can say that the people are very professional and fun to work with.

    Interview Questions

    Negotiation

I declined to negotiate, I researched what the position was worth and they accepted.
