I have been working at Comverge full-time (More than a year)
Great learning environment for software developers of all levels. Difficult problems to deal with on a daily basis. Love that the office is in downtown Denver.
Annual review process for developers is mostly subjective, unclear, and poorly explained/communicated. Just to be clear I don't have issue with the compensation itself, but on how or why we got to that number.
The other minor problem is that metrics are subjective and per individual on performance reviews. This is a problem because it is often emphasized that collaboration and teamwork are the foundations of how software is built at Comverge. So the annual snarky comment going around during review time is "We want you to work collaboratively to achieve individual goals".
Advice to Management
It would be better if bonuses and raises where allotted per team. Allow team lead(s) to distribute.
I applied through college or university. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Comverge (Newark, CA).
- phone interview. This is to see if you are doing something similar to the position you applied. They also try to see if the industry you are working relevant to the business
- face to face - This to check if you have the technical and communication skill required for the position.
