    Pros

An exceptional and much needed mission given the current climate. Innovative and forward thinking leadership that will facilitate growth, impact and endless opportunities for staff and program participants. The potential is great and will be achieved!

    Cons

No cons to share. Organization is on the right path to achieve and sustain a notable future for years to come. Glad to do my small part in making this a reality.

    Application

I applied through other source. The process took 2+ months. I interviewed at Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute (Washington, DC).

    Interview

Two interviews and second one was with all other senior executives and future department staff. This was uncomfortable as questions from senior executives were at high level and future department staff were included in the meeting. Overall there were 8 people in the room.

    Interview Questions

    • Why haven't you worked in a Latino-focused organization or for a Latino cause before.   Answer Question

    Negotiation

I took a significant pay cut to take on this challenge due to the mission.
