I already put in my 2 weeks notice to my work place, my supervisor was mad at me because since I just received retention bonus that will expire for a year, she’s saying I can’t leave. She has explained to me that if I leave, I might have to pay back the retention bonus. Do you think they will reject my 2 weeks notice or I just can pay them back? I need to get out from this toxic work environment. I did not tell them that I already accept another job which is better pay.

My boss is very fair and understanding. We have great employees, and policies aren’t completely out of the norm.

Have to be in position for a year before you can move to a different position.

  1. Manager, Provider Practice Interview

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Conifer Health Solutions (Fresno, CA)

Recruiter reached out to me via LinkedIn about the opportunity - initially the JD was titled Director Provider Practice. After speaking with the recruiter on the phone, the interview process was pretty quick. I had about 4 rounds of interviews within 2-3 weeks, and then the recruiter called me to extend an offer. The recruiter and I went back and forth a bit on the salary, we settled on a number and I gave my verbal acceptance of the offer. The recruiter said I'd received the written offer shortly after - here's where things got interesting.

A few days went by and I didn't see the written offer pop up in my email. After reaching out to the recruiter to follow up on the written offer, he said that there's been a reorg - the role changed from Director to Manager, the salary was reduced by $30,000, but the scope of the role was the same. After some back and forth negotiation on salary, annual bonus, and sign-on bonus, the recruiter and I settled on a number. I did receive the written offer after that, however it was not the number that the recruiter and I discussed even the second time. It was still $15,000 less. I respectfully declined the offer from there.

Long story short - beware of their bait and switch recruiting tactics. Especially when they try to get you to do the same role, same job description, but for $30,000 less than what was agreed upon.

Standard leadership questions - tell me about your leadership experience, what size teams have you led, how do you handle conflict, etc.
