Interns at the Consumer Technology Association (CTA)™ work on interesting and dynamic projects, receive professional training and development, and work with professionals at all levels.
Our 30+ annual internships cover all aspects of our business, including marketing, communications, human resources, government affairs, conferences, finance, information technology, membership, business administration, sales and many more.
All internships are paid and most are full-time. To help ensure that our interns have the best foundation in their chosen discipline, internships last eleven months. This year, six interns were hired for full time positions.

Mortgage Assistance Program
We offer employees up to $25,000 in a forgivable loan for the purchase of a primary residence within a five-mile commute of the office.
Flexible Work Arrangements
Employees may work with their supervisors to adjust their work hours if needed. Additionally, CTA offers a telework option for full-time staff, allowing them to work from home one day a week.
Staff start their weekends early on Fridays from Memorial Day through Labor Day with early dismissal at 1 PM.
Employee Health and Wellness Program
We offer staff access to our on-site exercise facility, open 24 hours a day with on-site boot camp, yoga and strength training classes free to staff.
Annual Incentive Compensation
All full-time employees are eligible for an annual bonus based on a percentage of the employee’s base salary.
401(k) Salary Deferral Plan
CTA matches six percent of the employee’s contribution, and staff are 100 percent vested after only one year of employment.
Tuition Assistance Program
Employees are eligible for tuition reimbursement of up to 75 percent or $5,250 per year. Additionally, we pay up to $150 towards existing student loans.
Public and Alternative Transportation Benefits
Staff receive up to $255 per month in public transportation fare or vouchers. Discounted parking is available for employees who choose to drive.
Employees are eligible for 50 percent broadband reimbursement.
Professional and Career Development
CTA offers professional development opportunities, including in-house and off-site training, to full-time staff.
I have been working at Consumer Technology Association full-time (More than a year)
After more than a year here at CTA, I have really come to appreciate the company's dedication to its employees. I have never worked for an organization that invests so much in its employee's work life balance. Between the 35 hour work week and Summer Fridays, this organization has helped me to focus my time in the office in order to maximize these perks. In addition, the $150/mo payments I receive toward my college debt has cut my loan in half and I can now see the light at the end of the tunnel.
I have especially liked getting to know the people here. They are passionate and dedicated and all have a vested interest in the success of our members and the organization.
We run pretty lean and there are definitely very busy times and some additional staff would be very helpful. I know it is hard for an association to justify adding additional staff, but several departments could really use the help.
Advice to Management
While you continue to invest in CTA and the professional development of the staff, adding some additional bodies would really be helpful.
I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Consumer Technology Association (Arlington, VA) in April 2016.
I had a brief phone interview with the HR intern that last approximately 30 minutes then an in-person interview with the director and senior manager for the communications department that lasted about an hour. Everyone was very friendly, and they had some interesting questions that made me think out of the box. Really enjoyable.
