I love to come to work to first and foremost to make money, second to see my co-workers which have grown into friendships. I like coming to work because of the feeling of accomplishing goals and tasks given to me by my superiors. I just generally like being here.

~Destin Watson, San Antonio SME

Career and professional development minded - I do not come to work for myself, my purpose is to remove problems from others and to increase their experience. Possessions, money and status are secondary. I relentlessly pursue higher positions and raises to pay for student loans, save for future retirement, to provide for my children’s inheritance, and to provide for my current family-my wife. In other words, I came here no to feed selfish desires but to serve others in my life. Long ago I learned that living for money and recognition can make a good person miserable.

~ Tyler Matthews, San Antonio CSR

My motivation to come to work every day is my two sons. As they grow older, I want them to see that if you want something then you have to work hard to achieve it.

~Joshua Gutierrez, San Antonio CSR

I come to work because I like the satisfaction of knowing I have made my customers feel that they have been treated as a customer and not just another number.

~Darius Brown, San Antonio CSR

Great people are the foundation on which we build.

At its core, our business is all about our people, from the first line representatives to the management team. Our philosophy has always been to hire the best, develop their skills through both training and experience and hold them accountable for results and compliance. This philosophy applies equally to our CEO, our mid level managers and our service teams.

Proprietary business processes that deliver results.

Our processes are designed to deliver maximum results efficiently and in compliance with the law, regulations and client policies. Each individual division’s processes have been optimized to meet the needs of its industry segment and its clients.

 Leading edge, innovative and flexible.

In today’s environment, the right people and the right process won’t get far without the right technology. Over the years Convergent has invested millions in our call center and collection systems, data processes, business intelligence reporting and telephony. All our operations centers are redundantly networked, maximizing uptime and throughput. Each division is supported with the “right-fit” technology appropriate for its industry and internal processes, managed and delivered through our centralized IT organization.

    Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Convergent (Arlington, VA).

    Interview

Friend contacted manager regarding my need for a job. Economy had collapsed. I then went to office dressed in manilla envelopes, filled out long forms for a shocking hour, and then blurry-eyed, I made a frenemy who smeared over my past work, my paper resume, and wrote a thank-you letter.
