    I have been working at Convergys full-time (Less than a year)


    9.25 is the starting minimum wage and is higher than most state baselines. You will always have floor support when your working on the phones. Convergys highers over 90% of their employees from their existing workforce. If you have been with Convergys for more than a year, have great attendance, and are looking to be promoted, Convergys is the way to go! In addition, you get 16 attendance points to play with that make it possible for you to gain leeway when your absent from work. Additionally, at the start of each New Year you will get a pay raise which means more butter on the bread each year.


    Convergys employees have to learn a vast variety of systems and be able to effectively navigate between those systems in order to assist customers on *every* single call! You work schedule may be set for nights, whether you can work then or not, since Convergys tends to be understaffed on Nights. You *will* be yelled at by customers and that makes the job very stressful. While some customers will make you feel like a rock star there will always be the few that call Convergys call centers looking for a fight. Additionally, Convergys has a high employee churn rate since most employees who start working at Convergys quit due to the job's difficulty. Just be aware of this fact and don't allow it to affect your decision to stay.

    Advice to Management

    Working on the phones for 8 hours taking calls can make employees feel dehumanized as they become the customer's personal punching bag. You may tell us not to take it personally but it is human nature to look for weaknesses in others and our customers are no different. Please, whatever you do, don't forget to remind us, as employees, that our customers are no more, and no less, human than we are and that we, if anything, are helping them to appreciate themselves, and us, a little by making those calls a positive experience.

    Interviewer didnt seem like he wanted to be here. When I asked him what he enjoyed most about this job, he took a very long time to answer. He didn't seem happy with this place. It was an easy interview...you receive a test, as well
