Technical Account Manager

Being a woman in tech, I only recently started advocating for myself at work about advancement opportunities. Because of this I wanted to ask this question to my male counterparts. When you have 1:1's with your direct reports and talk about career growth / aspirations what is your managers’ response typically? I’d like to gauge how my experience (negative) differs from others. For instance are you met with blockades, enthusiasm, dread, etc?

Pros

Amazingly smart people. Company with a purpose. Inventing the future of containerized infrastructure. Highly virtuous culture and purpose.

Cons

High growth company and still lots of ongoing changes. Nothing a-typical for a company at this size in such a hot space, but not for the faint of heart.

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at CoreOS (San Francisco, CA) in Oct 2017

    Interview

2 phone screens (1 with recruiter, 1 with manager), 3hr onsite. There is a writing sample due prior to the onsite as well. Onsite was a panel interview with 3 stages - be prepared to do mock calls as part of the interview process. One of the more intensive sales interviews I've had but great to join such a skilled team.
