Cornerstone performs insurance appraisals for high value residential properties on behalf of major insurance carriers. The central office staff is friendly and helpful and the work involves visiting interesting locations. It's a good company to work with if you are independent and resourceful.
There can be a tremendous workload or a very light one; it depends on the inflow of business from insurers and this is not Cornerstone's fault, but appraisers are paid by the job.
The nature of the work means that occasionally an appraisal report will make a homeowner or an agent upset.
Advice to Management
Cornerstone's office staff has been rearranged in 2010 and operates smoothly now. I don't have any real complaints or suggestions.
I applied in-person. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Cornerstone Appraisal Services in March 2011.
Fairly standard interview process that was somewhat abbreviated as I was a current employee. Interviews generally consist of phone interview followed by in person interview. Most interview processes are completed with one in person interview. All new hires are required to undergo standard background checks and drug test.
