I worked at Corporate Risk Holdings full-time
The lower the level, the better the people. I met many competent dedicated people, who were willing to work their rear ends off for management. It was a good staff. Initial pay was above market.
The higher up the management you went, the less capable the people were. There were many empty titles, where people in Director, VP, EVP or CEO roles were clearly in over their heads. Lots of rah-rah speeches and blowing sunshine, but you got a sense that not even they actually believed what they were saying
Stalled merit increases and suspended 401k benefits didn't align with the good work people were doing on the front lines. Some good people were let go, while some questionable people were promoted beyond their skill or capabilities. Left many of us wondering who was making these decisions.
Advice to Management
Let go of the tight control of power, and let employees help dig you out of the mess you made.
