Our Story

In 2003 CCS was born out of a client’s need for a correctional healthcare solution. Today, CCS employs over 7,000 employees and cares for approximately 250,000 lives in 37 states. Through consumer demand, we have grown into a progressive and customer-oriented leader within the correctional health care field. Our team of skilled professionals are unparalleled within the industry, and we continue to meet our customers’ needs by relying on our vast experience in creating resolutions for the healthcare issues faced by organizations of all sizes. As a community healthcare provider, we offer comprehensive medical, dental and behavioral health services for inmates.

In addition, we do offer the individual service of adjudicating and paying medical bills for some clients. Our success can be directly attributed to our people. Correct Care Recovery Solutions has provided behavioral health, residential treatment, and related services on behalf of public entities for nearly 20 years. We have grown to become the nation’s largest private provider of these services by consistently meeting or exceeding performance requirements, embracing best practices, and promoting patient dignity through evidence-based, trauma-informed programs. In total, we operate more than 2,000 inpatient beds at seven wholly managed residential treatment centers and employ more than 2,300 skilled professionals.

SOUTH FLORIDA STATE HOSPITAL

CCRS assumed operation of South Florida State Hospital in 1998, including the transition of existing qualified staff. Prior to the partnership, the aging facility had never achieved accreditation, provided custodial care, and was facing a class-action lawsuit concerning patient abuse and poor conditions. Within 10 months of assuming operations, CCRS achieved Joint Commission accreditation as well as simultaneously beginning the development of a state-of-the-art replacement facility on the same campus.

CCRS arranged for private sector financing of the new hospital at no additional cost to the State and, upon completion, successfully transitioned 450 employees and 325 patients within a five-day period. Under CCRS operation, South Florida State Hospital introduced recovery-oriented and trauma-informed care that led to dramatic reductions in the average length of stay and the virtual elimination of restrain and seclusion. Through the implementation of evidence-based practices, active individualized treatment plans/programs, and a successful community transition/aftercare program, the class action lawsuit was dismissed.

 

 SOUTH FLORIDA EVALUATION AND TREATMENT CENTER

CCRS assumed the operation of the South Florida Evaluation and Treatment Center in 2005, including the transition of existing qualified staff. Prior to the partnership, the facility provided only four days per week of clinical programming, lacked evidence based practices, and maintained a punitive treatment approach with high rates of restraint and seclusion. Upon assuming operation, CCRS introduced the recovery culture and treatment approach, implemented the Minkoff Dual Diagnosis program, initiated Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) training for all security staff, developed active individualized patient treatment plans, and implemented technologies to improve patient care and staff efficiency. The clinical programming was increased to seven days per week, including hours, and CCRS virtually eliminated the use of restraint and seclusion.

CCRS designed and built a state-of-the-art replacement facility in 2008, transporting 230 patients from the existing facility in Miami to the new facility in Florida City – a stretch of over 30 miles. The construction of the facility combined the coordination of technical, financial, and project management resources to deliver an on-time, on-budget facility that met all client expectations. Operation Stand Down Tennessee

Correct Care Solutions is a proud supporter of Operation Stand Down Tennessee in empowering Veterans to achieve their American Dream. Since 1993, Operation Stand Down Tennessee (OSDTN) provides a wide range of supportive services for honorably discharged veterans and their families throughout Tennessee – all at no cost to them. OSDTN assists all Veterans with personal ID needs, referrals to community agencies, benefits counseling, legal assistance, military records assistance, transitional housing, transportation, clothes and personal care items. The service center, located in Nashville, is also an employment hub that offers job placement assistance, computer training, resume development, professional development workshops, interview preparation and budget counseling. This Veteran Service Center is the only one in Tennessee recognized by the US Department of Veterans Affairs. Last year, 87 cents of every $1.00 donated helped more than 1,800 local Tennessee Veterans!

    Pros

    CCS is a great place to work. The values and mission behind the company are great and the Executive team is very hands on and involved in the day to day operation of the company. The people I work with are great and management is very hands on and helpful. The opportunity for advancement is another great aspect of working for CCS and a company this size.
