I worked at Coutts & Co full-time (More than a year)
Coutts has wonderful people, the company inspires loyalty and is relatively social. The work and clients are interesting and diverse and you can get a wealth of experience within each role.
The pay is terrible and bonuses and pay rises are nearly non existent. Progression is slow and expectation about the volume of work to be produced is high. Management is passive and progress within the company is stymied by severe budget constraints and internal red tape.
Advice to Management
Recognise talent instead of focusing on who has been in the job longest
I applied online. The process took 2+ months. I interviewed at Coutts & Co (London, England (UK)).
I had to fill out an application form, then has a few numerical and non verbal tests. Passing these you then get a strength based telephone interview followed by an assessment centre. I was told that only my score in the assessment centre would affect getting a place since I've already passed the other steps to get to the assessment centre so they don't count anymore.
