Mission: What people do online impacts their lives offline. Our goal is to equip people with tools that provide protection and encourage accountability and trust in the fight against Internet temptation. We bridge the gap between technology and relationships.

Covenant Eyes – Why Work With Us?

We have nearly 300,000 active members in over 125 countries and continue to grow exponentially.

Covenant Eyes has a profound reason for existence that resonates with both our staff and membership on a personal and spiritual level. It is a unique company in a special market. Job applicants and employees need to be aware of what comes with being in this space.

Our market is focused on people who struggle with a pornography obsession and want to quit it for good. Using porn can be dramatic and catastrophic in our members’ lives, especially when spouses and children are involved. Our work puts us and our employees in the middle of that drama. It can be tough as an employee to hear that trauma over the phone, in chat, in email, in comments online, or face-to-face at conferences or other events. But it is empowering to hear their stories of healing. Some jobs in the company are closer to that than others, but we’re always in that space.

What our employees are saying about Covenant Eyes:

“I was looking for an employer whose mission and employment brand was something that I could get behind, believe in, and ultimately make an impact.  I was also looking for an opportunity to learn, grow, and push myself professionally.  CE has met and exceeded my expectations in these areas and I’m thankful for the opportunity.”

“I really liked the idea of the hero.  People want to work for more than a paycheck, especially tech companies, Covenant Eyes is that opportunity.”

“It’s a great place to work.  Great bunch of people to associate with, to do something right.  To stop pornography and help families grow.”

“Worthy & meaningful work.  I’m glad to be doing something which makes a difference in people’s lives.”

“I was excited to join a team that has a true passion for helping people, including their coworkers.”

“I wanted to know what it felt like to work for a company that treated you like family.  This is it.”

We provide software and content to help people quit using pornography for good, or never start.

Several unpleasant facts that show the destructive impact that pornography has on today’s society as well as its influence on human sex trafficking:

  • The exposure of children to Internet pornography is harming their developing brains. “Pornography consumption is associated with decreased brain volume in the right striatum, decreased left striatum activation, and lower functional connectivity to the prefrontal cortex.”  (Journal of the American Medical Association Psychiatry – 2014).
  • For Christians, 60% of men say they struggle at least monthly. 1 in 7 Christian women say they struggle at least monthly. 43% of senior pastors and youth pastors say they have struggled with pornography in the past (81)
  • More and younger children are accessing Internet pornography. The average age of first exposure is 11 (Randel and Sanchez, "Huffington Post" - 2016).  However, "children under 10 now account for 22% of online porn consumption under 18" (British Journal of School Nursing.)
  • “Porn users demand a constant stream of new, increasingly violent and fetishized content. In order to keep up with this demand, more women and children become prostituted and trafficked.” (National Center on Sexual Exploitation.)
  • Reports of suspected child sex trafficking jumped 846% between 2010 and 2015, according to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. (The White House, Office of the Press Secretary, April 11, 2018, whitehouse.gov)

Covenant Eyes pioneered Internet Accountability and has once again revolutionized the industry with Screen Accountability. Inc. 5000 has recognized Covenant Eyes as one of the fastest growing United States companies eight times, the last seven years in a row. It’s also been named among Corp! Magazine’s Bright Spot companies for growth and talent for the last three years.

Our growth rate has averaged 20% over the last seven years. That’s because Covenant Eyes continues to invest in its employees, innovation, research, and development. Since its inception is 2000, Covenant Eyes has grown to nearly 200 employees and nearly four times the employees from 2010 to 2017.

We have made a commitment to growth. No job should ever be a dead end! We offer plenty of resources and training opportunities to let you hone your skills and learn new ones. Plenty of advancement opportunities here! Several individuals have hired in as an entry-level employee and worked their way up to vice president of an entire division.

Happy, healthy employees are the most fulfilled and do their best work, that’s why we don’t work 60 to 80-hour weeks. In fact, times of rest are encouraged.  We even rented out an entire movie theater for the company to watch the last several Star Wars releases!

Respecting work/life balance, encouraging critical thinking and collaboration, caring for each other, and rewarding ingenuity and hard work, these are at the heart of Covenant Eyes. From the CEO to the newest member of the team, you’ll find the Covenant Eyes family approachable, compassionate, and selfless.

Hiring the best talent means being flexible and adaptable. Roughly 25% of our employees work remotely throughout the country. Through collaboration, daily and weekly check-ins, standup meetings, and brainstorming sessions, team members feel part of the Covenant Eyes family.

We have an excellent benefits package, but more importantly, we care about each other and take care of each other.

  • Have an idea for improvement? Share it! Have an opportunity to try something new? Take it! But be prepared, you’ll be recognized and rewarded for your excellence and innovation.
  • We incorporate a user-centered approach. We build user feedback into all stages of our work to make sure we’re on the right track and delight our users.
  • We have integrated teams where we care about each other and listen to each other’s ideas. A single day could include talking to designers, developers, copy writers, and customer service.
  • We encourage community involvement. Use normal work hours to volunteer around the community and serve others outside the workplace.
  • Need a break? Enjoy some ping-pong while drinking a free coffee or hot chocolate.

Why do we do this? It’s because people are our biggest asset. Without the best team, we cannot continue to grow and thrive as we have for nearly 20 years.

Covenant Eyes is headquartered in Owosso, MI, between Lansing and Flint - One of our employees, who moved to Owosso for the job said, “We love how it’s a small town with a feeling of revitalization. It’s growing in lots of good ways. There are several restaurants and shops that are high quality by big city standards, and yet have that personal touch that you only get in a small town. There is a vibrant community of health and fitness-minded people here, a good artistic community, a stage theater, and three hip coffee shops. It has a small town feel because it’s isolated from the big cities, but it is still easy driving distance to anything.”

Optimism – We trust always in a brighter future.  In the midst of setbacks and frustration, we know our situation is temporary, and expect that we’ll come through it better off than before, even when we don’t yet see how.

Passion for Excellence – We are energized by our drive to be at our best, as individuals and teams, and recognize and encourage the excellence in each other.

Service to OthersIn each of our roles, we look for opportunities to assist our colleagues, members, and others, even in hard or distasteful work, doing so with a heart of service, selflessly, being satisfied in such service and expecting nothing in return.

I have been working at Covenant Eyes full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    - Great company mission. I actually get to develop software for a product I believe in!
    - Great technical challenge. Sometimes, it seems like you have to trade off technical challenge for mission. Not so at Covenant Eyes. This place is full of really smart people who can help me to grow in my career.
    - Great company culture. I have worked at other great places, and other not so great places, but CE is the best so far. They treat people really well, managers are looking out for employees' satisfaction and growth, people really want to hear your input. Its just such a great place to work! Core values (Honor God, Service to Others, Optimism, and Passion for Excellence) are really embodied in our day to day work.

    Cons

    - I know I should have something to say here, but I really don't yet. I've only been at CE for a few months, but everything I have seen so far has been top notch.

    Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Covenant Eyes (Owosso, MI) in November 2016.

    Interview

On-Site, met various team members for introductions, explanations and skills tests. Brain teasers/logic problems a'la Google. Participated in company meeting going on that day, went to lunch, had to perform sample tasks and give explanations of my process steps
