Covenant Eyes – Why Work For Us?

“I have made a covenant with my eyes.” – Job 31:1

About Covenant Eyes

More than a decade ago, Covenant Eyes founder Ron DeHaas faced the same questions many people face today.

“How can I teach my children to use the Internet with integrity?”
“How do I guard my own heart and remain pure online?”
“How do I serve as an example to my family and church?”

Realizing the threat the Internet poses without proper monitoring, he invented Internet accountability to equip people to protect themselves and their families from online dangers.

Located in Owosso, Michigan, Covenant Eyes is the pioneer of Internet Accountability software, empowering members to maintain their online integrity. Aware of an ever-growing need to better equip parents, Covenant Eyes has developed a family Internet filter that restricts usage based on parental controls.

Over 100,000,000 Covenant Eyes Accountability Reports have generated 16 years of conversation-based accountability. Covenant Eyes is the most significant corporate force in cultural recognition of the public health crisis of pornography and sex trafficking.

MORE THAN A JOB

IT’S YOUR CALLING

BECOME A HERO. JOIN THE TEAM TODAY!

Work at a place where your day job makes you a hero. Contribute to great technological advancements that change culture and build marriages and families. As Ron DeHaas, CEO and Founder says, “It’s more than a job, it’s a calling.” Embrace the calling.

VILLAIN, THY NAME IS PORNOGRAPHY

Pornography use is rampant in our society. We know that porn use deeply impacts an individual; it changes a person’s brain chemistry and thought process, it destroys marriages, and it rattles the foundation of our families. There is nothing more destructive facing our society than the pandemic of pornography.

VALUES TO STAND OUT FROM THE CROWD.

Working at Covenant Eyes is about something bigger than creating and selling software; it’s about creating a movement and changing culture. The mission to save marriages, protect families, and change culture drives each and every person at Covenant Eyes. Our values make us a unique place to work—a place where people are thrilled to come to work every day! What can we say? We love what we do.

Enjoy Work and Life

We don’t believe in 80-hour work weeks here! Serving and protecting families is at the core of our business, and that starts with happy, healthy employees. Sometimes we even celebrate corporate milestones with extra paid time off…for the whole company!

Make a Real Difference

At the end of the day you are contributing to saving a marriage, protecting a child’s innocence, strengthening a commitment to purity and working to end sexual exploitation. What greater difference could you possibly make in the world?

THE COVENANT EYES DIFFERENCE.

An Eye Toward Innovation See an opportunity to try something new? Take it! We regularly recognize and reward excellence and innovation. Sometimes that recognition even comes from our CEO!

User-Centered Approach We want to create software that people want to use. We build user feedback into all stages of our work to make sure we’re on the right track and delight our users.

Work Where Your Family Is With video conferencing, remote work just got a whole lot easier and more collaborative. Many positions allow you to work remotely. We’ve even had someone work from Nigeria.

Integrated Teams No inter-departmental wars here! We care and listen to each others’ ideas. A single day could include talking to designers, developers, copy writers, and customer service.

Community Involvement Use normal work hours to volunteer around the community and help and serve others outside the workplace. No paid time off required!

Competitive Benefits Benefits start on day one and include health, dental and vision insurance options, employer paid life, short and long term disability, a generous paid time off schedule, tuition reimbursement, and 401k with matching.

Work Hard. Play Hard. Work can take its toll, especially when it’s about a heavy topic like porn. Take breaks with free coffee or ping pong… and enjoy the many, many snacks that appear almost daily.

Commitment to Growth No job should ever be a dead end! We offer plenty of books and on- and off-site training opportunities to let you hone your skills and learn new ones.

    Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Covenant Eyes (Owosso, MI) in December 2015.

    Interview

It has multiple stages with multiple (increasing) level of team involvement. Including roughly the following steps: E-mail answering any resume related questions, phone review of resume and background, technical phone and/or online interview with hiring manager(s), technical on-site one day interview with the involvement of most of the immediate team members and managers. It was extremely useful to get a taste of how the team(s) and part of the company operates throughout the interview process and attend the daily standup for example. Do not forget to interview the company while the company is interviewing you.

    Interview Questions

    • I think it would be unfair to go into a lot of detail on any of the questions. I can say that you need to be prepared to answer relevant technology related questions, sprinkled with some riddles to check your critical thinking skills and solve or at least attempt to solve some real software development problems with a keyboard in front of you.   Answer Question
