Cox Media Group launched the Digital Talent Program to recruit the next generation of diverse media professionals.
This highly competitive, one-year position is available to recent college or graduate school students who are eligible to work in the United States. Our Digital Talent Program participants have demonstrated superior academic achievement, they are committed to a career in media and show promise as a digital leader.
This is not an internship. Once on board, our Digital Talent Program participants earn a competitive salary and tackle challenging projects at CMG companies. Selected program participants will work at various CMG locations beginning in early June 2016 and must be open to relocation. Upon completion of the program, participants may be eligible for continued employment at the host location or they may be eligible to apply for full-time employment at other Cox Entities.
I have been working at Cox Media Group full-time (More than a year)
I have been with KIRO7 and Cox Media Group for a little over a year as an Account Executive. I love the fast pace and every day is different. The work is challenging but you are rewarded generously. The people I work with are truly the best and everyone in the building is friendly and helpful. Also, it is a lot of fun to work in a news organization. In the past year, KIRO7 has been top in the ratings for the local news, so we must be doing something right! The parent company, Cox Media Group, provides extensive training and support for TV and Digital sales. We have a full range of media solutions, not just TV, so we are very competitive in the media landscape.

Advice to Management
Manage to each individual salesperson's strengths.
I applied online. I interviewed at Cox Media Group (Atlanta, GA) in August 2016.
I originally applied online their talent portal. After a few days, I received an email and then follow up call from their recruiter. She did a detailed phone screen and sent it the hiring manager. The recruiter set up a phone interview which involved asking a lot of technical questions. Did a coding exercise online using a collaborative coding environment. I was then asked to come to a face-to-face interview. Face to face interview as a panel that lasted a few hours, and included an interview with the Architect, Other Software Engineers, and some members of the management team. Did a few whtieboarding questions, and had a culture screening to check that out.
