How do we continue to create opportunities for our Cricket customers? It starts with creating opportunities for our people. In a company driven by the power of ideas and knowledge, it’s critical to provide our employees with access to the latest information, educational opportunities and skill-building resources that can help them meet their goals. Cricket’s Learning and Development initiatives do just that. Whether employees are seeking technical or systems training, new device tutorials, management training or more, it is our goal to help them build core competencies that will help them reach their career goals at Leap and at Cricket – as well as in their lives.
Cricket University is a comprehensive online resource that is designed to support our employees’ training and education needs. Training courses address three basic categories: functional and technical training (systems training, procurement, IT, sales and operations, etc.), product and sales knowledge (sales techniques, launches of new devices and service plans), and professional and leadership skills (communications, time management, writing and presentation skills, etc.). We recognize that different individuals have different learning styles and time constraints, so we offer instructor-led courses, online courses, skills-based coaching, practice coaching, training materials and more. Employees can also build Learning Plans, customized road maps to prepare for the future position of his or her choice.
At Cricket, we believe that every employee, at every level, has the potential to be a leader. With Leader U, we have invested in building leadership skills and competencies across our organization. This online database includes recommended courses, electives and training materials organized to develop individual competencies across five levels of leadership. Podcasts, articles, market research and discussion forums offer employees a variety of tips, strategies and insights, and our “Profiles in Leadership” video series spotlights influences, turning points and inspiration from our senior management team. We’ve also integrated a social networking component to help employees establish and create a collective tool set, so that each of us can leverage our individual expertise to teach our colleagues.
People matter at Cricket. This is why we offer our teams a competitive, inclusive Total Rewards program, in order to attract and retain the most talented and committed people in our industry. Our program incorporates both short- and long-term compensation and incentives, as well as a comprehensive benefits package. It’s a program designed to inspire and reward performance, help promote work-life balance, align employee performance with stockholder interests, and attract, motivate and retain employees, so that we can all share in our company’s long-term success.
Each eligible employee’s Total Rewards package is made up of the following components:*
Cricket has developed reward and recognition programs to celebrate achievements that range from exceptional accomplishments to recognition for day-to-day performance.
This overview is intended only to provide highlights of certain plans and programs, which are subject to amendment or termination at any time. In the event of an error in this or any other communication, an employee’s rights will always be determined under the provisions of the applicable plan document (and the plan’s administrative rules).
At Cricket, we believe in the power of diversity. We have built our Cricket brand by innovating value for a largely underserved customer base – people who are young, ethnically diverse and focused on value. For us embracing diversity and inclusion is not about policies and programs – it’s about culture and work environment It is the foundation of who we are.
In simple terms, diversity is the mix; inclusion is getting the mix to work well together.
The concept of diversity means the understanding that each individual is unique and recognizing our individual differences. These can be along the dimensions of ethnicity, gender, age, national origin, disability, sexual orientation, education, political beliefs and religion. But it’s more than this; it is also diversity in skills, competencies, philosophies and life experiences.
Inclusion is a state of being valued, respected and supported. It’s about focusing on the needs of every individual and ensuring the right conditions are in place for each person to achieve his or her full potential.
For our Company embracing diversity and inclusion is a business imperative. It is not about “let’s do diversity today.” It is about embedding diversity into our everyday business and making it an intrinsic part of who we are. Our people are the most important asset we have. We believe for companies to succeed they must make the most of the full range of their people. Companies must attract and retain the right skills, the best minds, all the required resources – and that means diversity.
I worked at Cricket Communications full-time (More than 5 years)
Great people to work with. Fun environment.
Leadership decisions not always aligned with strategy of company.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Cricket Communications.
Three interviews. First-recruiter- one of the HR people conducted this interview. Very basic questions. Second-Conducted by the person who would eventually be my supervisor. Third- Conducted by Manager's supervisor. Job offer came from someone in HR. It was negotiable. Got printed offer via federal express 2 days later.
