When hiring DM’s or Area Managers be sure to follow up with the managers in the district. Find out how things are going and make sure your employees are being treated respectfully and not being bullied. Yes, bullied. It is very disheartening to work for a company in a successful store while your DM/Area Manager is playing the scare tactic game. Nobody is driven or motivated by scare tactics. Hopefully someone is listening and talking to the managers running their stores to ensure that this behavior stops. This company screams fun and respect, etc. However there is NO FUN with threats.
Advice to Management
More transparency. Talk to your store managers and find out what’s really going on. With limited payroll it is nearly impossible to produce a positive outcome with grassroots. The company should be helping us drive the traffic in and let us do our jobs in the store. Celebrate the wins and support the falls. Let’s be realistic, there will be tough weeks and when that happens we should stay positive, not use threat tactics to win. That will never work. Also, more training tools about the product.

Group interview, in the mall where the store was opening at the food court. Very unprofessional, the best candidates got all the time and those that weren't aggressive enough got none.
