I worked at Crossvale full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

I worked for 5 years at Crossvale and it was a good run. With Crossvale I was able to further my career to the next level, from Sr. Integration Developer to Associate Architect, and it was not just a title change. During this journey, I acquired a wide range of new skills: technical, management and interpersonal. So, the pros:

    - Direct access and visibility to everyone in the company, including CEO, CTO and CFO.
    - No micromanagement. Period. You discuss what needs to be done, deliver results, once delivered - ask for a more demanding task, get it and work on it.
    - You always understand what you are doing and why. If you don’t - discuss this with upper management directly, it will be solved.
    - Good benefits, 401k, insurance packages for the price and overall outstanding back office business workflow - special thanks to the CFO.

I would recommend Crossvale to those who welcomes the movement towards open-source software in the commercial world. Red Hat Premier partnership is a great start. And it is a lot that is yet to be done. Crossvale is on the right track into adopting policies and strategies that rule the open-source and if you share this vision, it is a very likely chance to find Crossvale as a great place to work.

    Cons

With the pros I mentioned above it may seem as a paradise. It is not. It can get demanding, it can get busy. Company gets new customers, some can be challenging. I see it as a plus, but write it here in the cons section, to not keep it blank and because not everyone agrees that it is challenges and changes that move us all further.

    Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3+ months. I interviewed at Crossvale (Dallas, TX) in June 2017.

    Interview

I had two interviews one with a few members of the team and another with the CTO. They will ghost you. I haven't heard anything back from them for more than 6 months. I reached out to the recruiter but she said they are still in their hiring process. I already have a job and they wasted my time. The team I interviewed was pretty cool. I had a difficult time understanding the CTO. He has a strong Spanish accent and I couldn't understand half of the things he was telling me.
